FOOD FROM THE HEART
Saturday, March 28
Once a year, Northside comes together to collect food for needy families in our
community. Since we started FOOD FROM THE HEART, we have collected over one million pounds of food for needy families in the Midlands. We continue to partner with Village Church in Blythewood.
What our volunteers do:
Volunteers stand outside local grocery stores and distribute red bags and flyers to customers as they enter the store. They explain that 100% of the items we collect will benefit men, women, and children here in the Midlands. The food is distributed through the Harvest Hope Food Bank and area food pantries and ministries.
Here’s how you can volunteer and sign up:
To volunteer, find YOUR LIFE Group or A STORE YOU WISH TO VOLUNTEER listed below and click on the BOX for that store or LIFE Group. Each LIFE Group or store is linked to the FOOD FROM THE HEART SignUpGenius website, where shifts are listed for you to sign up!
Be sure to sign up ONE NAME PER LINE, not as a “couple” (Each slot filled with one name.) Follow the directions to sign up for the desired shift and you will get a confirmation email.
BE SURE TO WATCH THE TRAINING VIDEO TO LEARN MORE ABOUT WORKING YOUR SHIFT! It will answer most questions you may have!
While you work your shift on March 28, take pictures and post them on social media
