A Word from Our Missions Pastor

When Jesus came to this earth he fulfilled the prophecy in Isaiah 9:2, “The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them.” Jesus described Himself as the Light of the World. People who were living without hope suddenly were filled with hope and purpose as Jesus touched their lives. With His arrival, Jesus pierced the darkness and the blind were able to see, the lame walked, and those in bondage were set free.

As a church, we are called to follow Christ’s example. I want to encourage you to pray about how God wants to use you in this world of darkness. How does He want to shine the light of the gospel through you? Together as we pray and give and go, we can pierce the darkness with the light of the gospel and see lives transformed by the power of the risen Christ. – Steve Allen

After participating in the Global Missions Celebration, we hope that you will commit to be a part of PIERCING THE DARKNESS alongside others at Northside. We pray that our GMC weekend will raise awareness of the Mission work at home, in our country and around the world. We will ask each member to participate by doing the following:

1. PRAYER and CARE: A GLOBAL MISSIONS Magazine highlighting our mission partners with specific items to PRAY is available in the lobby. Use this magazine at home during the year in family devotions, so that your family can learn more about and pray for the mission partners we support. Also available is a Prayer Card to keep in your bible for quick reference.

To view online, click here MAGAZINE and PRAYER CARD.

2. SHARE: To help equip you to be a part of PIERCING THE DARKNESS by sharing the gospel, we encourage you to register for the special PIERCING THE
DARKNESS Pass It On class, offered on Sunday, April 28, 2 – 6 p.m. Register online at our Momentum Tab HERE.

3. GIVE: Your sacrifices help get the gospel from our own community to some of the darkest places on the globe. COMMITMENT CARDS are available at the reception desk in the lobby. We ask that you pray and ask how God can use you to financially support our Mission Partners.

We ask members to return the completed commitment cards on Sunday in the offering plate or to the church offices.

4. GO: There are opportunities for you to join and participate in local missions or join a mission trip. Let us know your interests, talents and gifts on the commitment card.
