At Northside, we strive to be the pulse of the community around us. As we work to meet the needs of our community, we have teamed up with some other organizations to make that happen.
At Northside, we strive to be the pulse of the community around us. As we work to meet the needs of our community, we have teamed up with some other organizations to make that happen.
Community sometimes extends beyond our immediate neighborhood. We desire to reach out to the people in our state and our nation, traveling throughout both to go to where the people are. We are involved with statewide and nationwide ministries.
We have several mission trips throughout the year going to different countries, as well as other ministries that we join with to take the message of Jesus Christ to every person.

Good Samaritan Clinic
Richard Kester Memorial Food Drive
Hispanics are one of the nation’s largest and most vulnerable communities. Here in South Carolina, latino population growth is among the nation’s highest. Yet more than one third lack access to vital health care services when they are ill or preventive care to help them stay well. The Good Samaritan Clinic is a faith-based 501(c)3 organization offering free health care for the Hispanic community in two Midlands locations. With assistance from volunteer physicians, nurses and assistants as well as funding partners, the clinic provides free medical attention and counseling to anyone in need.

Providence Home
Providence Home is a transitional home for those in recovery who desire to overcome substance abuse or other issues. They believe that no matter what a man is struggling with, the solution is always a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is our Hope, our Comfort, and our “Way of Escape” (I Corinthians 10:13). If a man comes to Providence Home ready for change with a heart of humility, there will be restoration and victory. Holistic services are provided for finding jobs, budgeting, mentoring, Chapel and Bible studies, health care, counseling, and trauma-focused classes.
LOCAL MISSIONS
Outside the Walls
Outside The Walls began when a couple of guys got together and envisioned using their talents and skills with construction “outside the walls” of the church. They found that the need is great among, primarily, the elderly and single moms, who could not repair or perform needed projects for their homes. Many times, these people would just “make do” and go without. Reaching out to those around them, they were able to coordinate a group of individuals who had the same vision to reach these folks by helping them with their home repair project, but even more importantly, reaching out to them with the love of Christ and sharing the gospel.

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS
Embrace
We believe that the gospel is needed all across the globe, and we seek to take it there. Join us as we seek the Lord’s leadership to EMBRACE an unengaged unreached people group (UUPG) somewhere in the Middle East. These are exciting days! Follow the EMBRACE link below and become more familiar with what it means to adopt a UUPG. Join us in praying for the Lord to unify our leadership in knowing which UUPG to EMBRACE. And then, join us as we are obedient to His call to bring this UUPG to the throne of grace.
We have several mission trips throughout the year going to different countries, as well as other ministries that we join with to take the message of Jesus Christ to every person.
MISSION TRIPS
MISSION TRIPS
APPALACHIA MISSION
Jim Harris
For the past 16 years, folks from Northside have gone into the mountains of Eastern Kentucky to share God’s love with a culture that desperately needs hope. While there, this group puts together vacation Bible schools for both children and adults. Adult VBS is held in adult centers and a nursing home. Children’s VBS is held in the morning at a Daycare and in the evenings at different churches. They conduct a food drive at local grocery stores to replenish the food pantry, “kit up” several boxes of the food and go into the hollers to share the love of Jesus along with the food.
This mission takes place the 2nd week of June each year.

in multiple schools, parks and churches. GC2 aims to plant churches and make disciples. The team comes in by helping a church plant reach their community in a way they otherwise could not, due to lack of people and resources. What a mission team accomplishes in one week can take a local church plant 3 months to accomplish.

MISSION TRIP
Awadhi People - South Asia
Donna Scarboro
South Asia has been a land of darkness for many years. The area of the Awadhi is now ranked 12th on the watch list for Christian persecution. As reported by Open Doors USA, in the most recent year at least 12,500 Christians and about 100 churches have been attacked – and this is only from documented incidents. The good news is that God continues to work in a mighty way, making His name known to Hindus, Buddhists and Muslims. In our 19th year of ministering in South Asia, we are incredibly blessed to partner with our national pastor, a dedicated man of God who, with his family and staff work tirelessly to spread the gospel to the unreached people groups of South Asia.
This is an annual 10-day mission trip. We typically send a team in the beginning months of the calendar year.

Disaster Relief
George and Natalie Poepping
Disaster Relief (DR) is an excellent ministry for people who enjoy serving others. Some DR work interacts directly with the victims, some is behind the scenes, some is physically demanding, and some is less tiring. Most people can participate in some aspect of DR, which include mass cooking, chain saw, child care, laundry, shower, mud out, ash out, chaplaincy, rebuild and others. We have teams that have served in Chile, Texas, Maryland, Alabama, and Florida, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, North Carolina and several times in South Carolina.
*Mission Trip that is friendly to all ages and especially family friendly. For more information on joining a team, please contact Karen Allen with the Missions Office at 803-520-9544 or kallen@northsidebaptist.org.
