This is a challenging time for many in our community. The needs are great and could increase greatly in the days ahead. During this time, we can truly show the love of Christ to others. The Northside family will continue to share His Word by any possible means, as well as serve and continue the mission of the church. We have an unprecedented opportunity to meet needs that are greater than most of us have ever experienced in our country.

We have discovered ways to serve and we invite you to participate where you are able. Here are a few:

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30

CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP!  Make sure you are registering for the Northside Baptist Church in Lexington. There is a Northside Baptist Church in Vermont that is having a blood drive on the same day.

There is an urgent need for blood. Because of the COVID-19 impact, over 2700 blood drives have been cancelled nationwide. There have been 86,000 fewer blood donations. As this virus progresses, there will be a greater demand for blood.

The blood drive will be open from 10AM – 3PM on Friday, October 30, in the Main Gym. Strict sanitation guidelines and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

You can sign up online at www.redcrossblood.org
Use sponsor code: Northside

One donation can save up to three lives! CLICK HERE for more information and to sign up.

MISSION COLUMBIA

The need for food for local families is growing daily. Mission Columbia has continued to serve the community while maintaining social distancing.

If you have nonperishable food items you could share with Mission Columbia, please drop those items on the front porch at:

Mission Columbia
1320 Leaphart Street in West Columbia
Monday – Thursday between 8 AM – 11 AM.

Types of items that they could use are: rice, beans, pasta, sauces, canned items, including meats, soups, vegetables, etc.

NEIGHBOR CARE CARDS

You can help right in your own neighborhood! Use these NEIGHBOR CARE CARDS to find out how you can best serve and engage with your neighbors. You can place these on your neighbor’s porch and it’s a great way to show that you care and are available to them. The back side of the card is blank for you to add your own personal message or for your children to design an encouraging drawing or message.

Come to the church to pick up a set of 10 at the reception desk or DOWNLOAD and print them yourself at home.

VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATIONS

As we identify organizations who have a need for volunteers, we will add them to our list.

Harvest Hope Food Bank

At their website, you will find instructions on how to volunteer for the shifts labeled Crisis Volunteer-Midlands. Volunteer by CLICKING HERE!

“ON DECK” GROUP

Join the “ON DECK” GROUP. This is a group dedicated to meeting needs of our individual members and individuals in our community. These would be things like buy groceries, pick up a prescription or even mow their grass if that is needed. We don’t know what kind of needs will come up but we are looking for a group of caring people who love to help others. Just email Karen at kallen@northsidebaptist.org and tell her you would like to be part of the “ON DECK” GROUP.

INVITE FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO CHURCH!

Northside is now meeting for Worship services ONLY at special times.  More information here:  https://northsidebaptist.org/events/welcome-back/

Continue to invite your friends and family to join us for online Worship, Bible Study and Prayer. During this time, we meet only for Worship services, but we can continue to join together and minister where there are needs.
