It has been 70 years since a small group of committed Christians prayerfully voted to plant a new church in the Midlands of South Carolina. They had a vision of a church that would teach the Bible, minister to the community, and reach the world. Since those very first days, the Bible has been taught, ministries have been started, missionaries have been sent out, churches have been planted, and the lives of thousands of people have been changed!

Just in the last 10 years…

  • We have seen over 1,200 people baptized!
  • We have started a Christian school with over 730 students from birth to 12th grade.
  • We have started a new campus that now has an attendance of almost 250 each week.
  • We have collected and provided 1,363,355 pounds of food for food banks throughout the Midlands in our yearly one-day “Food from the Heart” food drive.
  • We have provided food, clothes, emergency shelter, and the gospel to thousands through Mission Columbia.
  • We have sent mission teams all around the world.

These are exciting days in the life of our church. We pray that each of us will seek God’s will and join with us as we move “Beyond” where we have been to where God is leading us in the future.

God has richly blessed Northside! We desire to be good stewards of these blessings and to use them to help further God’s kingdom.

The Purpose of our Beyond campaign is two-fold. First, we are building a balcony that will expand our Worship Center seating capacity to meet our worship service needs for the future. As we continue to grow, our new balcony will allow us to add more services as needed without spending millions of dollars on a new Worship Center. Second, we want to pay off our debt in order to free up our financial resources to be used for eternal purposes, not loan interest. Why is this so important? The heartbeat of Northside is to use all that we have and all that we are to reach a lost and unbelieving world for Christ.

Pastor Rocky Purvis along with the leadership of Northside, has been seeking wisdom and praying earnestly to hear God’s will in this process. We have three potential goals for Beyond. The first goal is set at an attainable $2.5 million. The second goal may take a little faith, set at $4 million. Our third goal of $6.5 million is attainable as well when we give generously with our finished goal in mind. After all, we serve a BIG & MIGHTY God and with Him, we can do BIG & MIGHTY things!

ONE: GIVING APPRECIATED ASSETS. Did you know that you can give assets directly to your church? You can avoid paying any capital gains tax, and still get a fair market value deduction based on its current value.

TWO: GIVING “STUFF.” Here is something we all can give. We move it, we store it, we insure it, and we dust it. It might be a collectible item like stamps, coins, baseball cards, or jewelry; nonetheless, it could be a valued gift.

THREE: GIVING BY SACRIFICE. How can you increase your giving for Beyond out of your income? It’s a great place to start, but the problem is, for many of us there’s already too much month at the end of our money. According to USA TODAY, the average family eats out 5x a week. If just 200 families added to their commitment the price of one meal ($45) a week the church could raise an additional $1.5 million over the next three years.

The most important part of any stewardship campaign is prayer. We invite you to join us for four weeks of round-the-clock prayer from Sunday, October 27 through Sunday, November 24. CLICK HERE to sign up.
