EMBRACING REFUGEES IN FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE

Through the Circle of Welcome initiative, Northside will partner with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service to welcome legal refugees to our community. Together, we support the refugee family as they rebuild their lives and are recognized as positive contributors to society.

Our faith calls on us to welcome the stranger. Our own history reflects deep immigrant roots and passionate commitment to welcoming newcomers.

The goal of Circle of Welcome is to increase successful integration of refugee families arriving in the U.S. and to create meaningful and varied ways for us to engage with and walk alongside refugee families in service, friendship, and as advocates.

EXCITING NEWS!!  We have a family who has been living in a refugee camp in Thailand moving into our community. They were facing persecution in their home country of Burma. Northside will be adopting this family and helping them as they transition to living in the U.S.

Our first mission is to set up their apartment.

Join us on November 2 as we transform an empty apartment into a warm home.
